Hunger Games Movie and Book Overview

The Hunger Games Trilogy is the famous series of books written by Suzanne Collins in 2008. Its genre is Science Fiction. The story is written from the point of view of Katniss Everdeen. She is one of the residents of District 12, a coal-mining district. The story revolves around the infamous game started by the Capitol where 12 districts will each have two tributes that will fight for their lives in the game called Hunger Games. This is a punishment bestowed by the Capitol because of the rebellion that has happened in the past.

In the story, Katniss volunteered to be one of the representatives for District 12 to replace her sister, Primrose Everdeen. After the reaping, Katniss stood beside Peeta Mellark as the tributes for the Hunger Games. They went to the capitol leaving their families and friends, including Gale Hawthorne, Katniss’ best friend. Before the actual Hunger Games, the tributes went through a parade, trainings and an interview. As they performed these activities, they were being watched by the residents of the Capitol.
